Led by Nottinghamshire County Council and based in the Worksop Turbine business centre in Worksop, North Nottinghamshire; the project will provide enhanced digital connectivity throughout the business centre to create a 5G enabled building - providing serviced accommodation to local small businesses, promoting technical collaboration and innovation, and creating new high- value jobs in the area.
In addition, the creation of the Digital Innovation Centre will provide a base from which we will:
- showcase and develop 5G and related technologies (with local schools, colleges and businesses)
- have a dedicated space to showcase AR/VR/XR applications and developments
- provide 5G enabled space for local businesses to trial and develop business and product innovations
- support accelerator programmes to support local businesses developing new innovations using 5G and related technologies with technical, research and business support also available.
The Digital Turbine Centre will be delivered by partners of the 5G Connected Forest programme (including Netmore and Gooii) and is designed to complement the work of the programme by opening up opportunities across all business sectors and across the north of the county.
